Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is seeking a Receptionist/Administrator for a GP Practice. You will book appointments, handle patient queries, and provide front-line admin support while adapting to daily practice demands.

This fixed-term/secondment post runs until 30 June 2027 to cover maternity leave; Welsh language ability is essential and training can be provided where needed.

Hwb iéchigt Cybi is looking for experienced, organised and enthusiastic Receptionist/administrators to work in our Health Board managed GP Practice.

Previous experience of working within a GP Practice would be beneficial and knowledge of the EMIS clinical system is desirable, however training can be given. The demands of a GP practice can change on a daily basis and therefore this role will be challenging.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be booking appointments and dealing with patient queries therefore excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner is required.

Proficient IT skills (including experience of Microsoft office) is also required as the post holder will also be undertaking a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the practices, including some data inputting.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a healthcare setting or a customer service environment but full training can be given to the right candidate.

The post holder will also be expected to work at other Health Board managed GP practices in the west area on an ad hoc basis to meet service needs and to cover staff absences. This will be discussed at interview.
