Job summary

CVS Vets is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist in Totnes. The role involves handling calls, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and managing payments. The position is permanent, 40 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends.

Salary ranges from £8.00 to £12.71 per hour, depending on age and National Minimum Wage guidelines. The successful candidate will join a friendly team at Seymour Vets, with opportunities for growth within CVS Vets’ network.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Receptionist is a must; veterinary setting experience is a bonus.
• Resilience and ability to handle emotional situations with grace.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate animal enthusiast to step into the role of a Veterinary Receptionist at Seymour Vets

Location: Steamer Quay Road, Totnes, TQ9 5AL

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40hrs per week

Salary: £8.00 - £12.71 per hour, depending on age and in accordance with National Minimum Wage legislation

Shift Pattern: The rota will includesome eveningsand weekends and some shifts at our branch surgery in Preston, Paignton.

We are a friendly small animal practice with a team of 6 vets. The practice is situated near the river in Bridgetown, Totnes with a large onsite carpark. We also offer a CT referral service with clients visiting from a variety of practices in the area. You will be supported by our existing reception team and be part of the Seymour Vets family who are friendly, caring and a great team to be a part of.

About the Role:

• Manage Communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
• Inquiries Resolution: Respond to queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism
• Client Reception: Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome
• Insurance Management: Process and manage insurance forms adeptly
• Medication Distribution: Dispense medications as required
• Financial Transactions: Process payments accurately and efficiently
• Emotional Support: Provide empathy and understanding to clients during distressing times, while maintaining professionalism
• System Utilisation: Organise patients using the in-house system efficiently
• Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
• Debt and Refund Management: Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings, and refunds
• Client Care: Above all, ensure that every client feels welcomed and valued at our practice

Who We're Looking For:
