Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Receptionist to support the Trust's Hotel Services Team. You will interact compassionately with patients and carers and provide a comprehensive reception service, promoting a positive image of mental health care.

The role requires strong communication, good organisational skills and flexibility. Based at Lanchester Road Hospital, shifts are 07:00–20:00, including weekends, with opportunities for extra hours and ongoing quality

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service (or to be completed within agreed timescale)
  • Key skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 / GCSE in Maths and English grade C or above
  • Diploma/NVQ Level 2 Business Administration

Responsibilities

  • Follow defined procedures and communicate face to face and by telephone in a helpful manner.
  • Demonstrate good customer service skills when dealing with potentially distressing situations.
  • Based at Lanchester Road Hospital with shifts 07:00 to 20:00 including weekends.
  • Be highly motivated, reliable, flexible and willing to work at short notice for possible extra hours.

Receptionist

We require a friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individual to work as a Receptionist - within the Trusts Hotel Services Team.

The role will require you to interact compassionately with patients and carers at all times.

The role also requires you to show commitment to and participate in quality improvement activities.

You will need to promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions.

The post holder is part of a team providing a comprehensive and efficient reception service for all patients, visitors and staff to the services.

You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do.

You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think independently and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role
Main duties of the job

Candidates must be able to follow and work within defined procedures and have the ability to communicate face to face and by telephone in a helpful manner. You will be required to demonstrate a high level of customer service skills when dealing with potentially distressing situations. Good organisational and time management skills including ability to prioritise effectively are a must.

You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic aboutputting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

The post holder will be based at Lanchester Road Hospital and will be required to work shifts between the hours of 07:00am and 8:00pm including weekends.

You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.

Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities environment is desirable.

Candidates must possess the following:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service (or to be completed within agreed timescale)
  • Key skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 / GCSE in Maths and English grade C or above

Person Specification
  • NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service (or to be completed in agreed timescale)

Experience
  • Experience of working in an administrative role
  • Experience working in mental health setting
