Job summary

Brook Young People is seeking a receptionist to provide reception, referral, and information to clients in a flexible, respectful and non-judgemental manner. The role includes updating records and files, using IT systems and word-processing as appropriate.

Applicants should have experience in confidential work for young people, prior receptionist/administrative experience, and strong telephone support skills. A DBS check is required and right to work in the UK must be demonstrated.

Job description

To provide reception, referral, and information to clients in a flexible, respectful and non-judgemental manner, including referring to others, and answering queries; keeping up-to-date records and files; using IT systems and word-processing as appropriate.

Requirements and Experiences
  • Experience/understanding of confidentiality issues for young people accessing sexual health services
  • Previous receptionist or administrative experience
  • Experience of telephone work, for example managing and directing incoming calls and supporting clients over the phone
  • Experience of record keeping, including updating basic client information and filing and storage of records
  • Experience of word processing and inputting and retrieving information from a computer system
