Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a clinic receptionist to support Wigan Community Mental Health Services at Claire House. You will greet service users and carers, and accurately record attendance and clinical outcomes on the EPR system.

Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The role requires professionalism, accuracy, and strong communication to ensure a smooth, welcoming patient experience across the service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in reception or front-desk administration in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to greet service users and carers professionally and courteously.
  • Accurate recording of attendance and clinical outcomes on computer systems.

Job description

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinic administration and reception support for the Wigan Community Mental Health Services within Claire House. This will include receiving and greeting service users and their carers into clinic areas whilst recording the service users' attendance and clinical outcome on the electronic patient record system (EPR), along with other administrative duties commensurate to the grade. The reception service opening hours are at present, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Please note - This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024. The post holder will be interactive with the general public, nursing, medical staff, professionals and other Trust administrative and clerical staff and will ensure all reception processes are carried out in a timely and accurate manner to ensure an efficient reception and quality service to all users.

  • Pay Enhancements - 30% additional for Evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturdays and 60% additional for Sundays and Bank holidays.
