Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated cleaning operative to support inpatient and community services across Greater Manchester. You will perform routine and deep cleaning of wards, offices and clinical areas to meet infection control standards.

The role offers pay enhancements for evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, generous annual leave, a strong pension, cycle-to-work, salary sacrifice car scheme and wellbeing resources.

Responsibilities

  • Routine and deep cleaning of wards, offices, corridors, toilets, and clinical areas to meet infection control standards.
  • Safely dispose of clinical and domestic waste following NHS protocols.
  • Operate cleaning machinery and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Replenish cleaning supplies and report shortages.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and infection prevention procedures.

Job description

Job responsibilities are listed below:

  • Cleaning Duties:Perform routine and deep cleaning of wards, offices, corridors, toilets, and clinical areas to meet infection control standards.
  • Waste Management:Safely dispose of clinical and domestic waste following NHS protocols.
  • Use of Equipment:Operate cleaning machinery (e.g., floor buffers, vacuum cleaners) and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Stock Management:Replenish cleaning supplies and report shortages.
  • Compliance:Follow health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and infection prevention procedures.

  • Pay Enhancements - 30% additional for Evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturdays and 60% additional for Sundays and Bank holidays.
