We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Receptionist.
Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, part of the Active Care Group, is a modern, newly built independent hospital run in partnership with the NHS (North Bristol NHS Trust). It provides an inpatient Level 1 intensive brain injury rehabilitation service (29 NHS England funded beds) for the South West of England and has now refurbished its old building to provide a further 23 slower-stream neuro-rehabilitation beds (Level 2). Both services will be managed in partnership with North Bristol NHS Trust.
What you'll be working:
Full-Time Receptionist
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm)
Salary: £12.87
What you'll be doing:
- Be responsible for the efficient delivery of high-quality reception cover, clerical and other administrative services.
- Assist with the day-to-day administrative functions to ensure the smooth running of the Centre.
- Provide a friendly, welcoming reception service to all visitors, patients, and relatives.
- Ensure confidentiality is always maintained by staff in the proximity of the reception area.
- Ensure that visitors to the Centre are signed in and out of the Visitors Book.
- Ensure the Reception Desk is covered throughout the working day.
- If required, escort visitors to their destination in the Centre.
- Communicate sensitively with patients and relatives.
- Answer telephone calls, take accurate and concise messages, and act appropriately.
- Deal with general queries and enquiries in an efficient, polite, and professional manner.
- Answer the car barrier phone; ensuring visitors are specifically for the Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre.
- Manage incoming and outgoing post daily.
- Ensure the stationary cupboard is adequately stocked.
- Take delivery of goods, check delivery notes against goods received, and pass details to the relevant person.
- Check goods invoices and highlight errors/omissions.
- Maintain the Centre notice boards weekly, ensuring all information is up to date and tidy.
- Provide high-standard administration to the Multi-disciplinary Team, including typing letters, minutes, correspondence, discharge reports, review documents, and general typing duties.
- Support the team with administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying.
- Organise patient reviews, set dates, invite relevant people, type reports, and distribute as necessary.
- Support effective communication and teamwork within the Multi-disciplinary Team.
- Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with daily administrative functions to ensure effective operation of the Centre.
- Work in conjunction with the admin team, providing cover when required and assisting with workload demands.
- Contribute to the induction and training of new staff as part of the team.
- Accept responsibilities from the Hospital Director appropriate to the role.
- Arrange patient appointments, liaise with external professional agencies, and book transport.
- Prepare for external appointments by liaising with patients and families.

What you'll have:
- Good general education
- GCSE Mathematics & English (Grade 4/C and above)
- Good literacy and keyboard skills
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet use
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
