Job summary

RAD Hotel Group’s Fairfield House Hotel in Ayr is seeking a part-time Receptionist to warmly welcome guests, handle check-ins/check-outs and guest inquiries. You will manage the booking system, process payments, and collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience, strong IT and communication skills, and a professional, proactive approach. Shifts run 7:00–15:00 and 15:00–23:00 with benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or reception experience would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Friendly, professional, and well-presented.
• Strong IT and organisational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude with a proactive approach to customer service.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

• Greeting and assisting guests at reception, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
• Answering calls and responding to enquiries from prospective customers and guests, taking messages where required.
• Managing the hotel booking system, including checking guests in and out and processing payments.
• Assisting guests with requests and providing excellent customer service throughout their stay.
• Working closely with other departments and management to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a seamless guest experience.

Shifts are between 7:00am-3:00pm and 3:00pm-11:00pm.

We are looking for a Receptionist at the Fairfield House Hotel. The role itself is the first point of contact for guests arriving to the hotel so ensuring they receive a warm welcome is key. You will also be tasked with checking guests in and out, using our booking system effectively, up-selling and answering any guests queries face to face or over the phone.
