Job summary

RAD Hotel Group seeks a part-time Maintenance Assistant based mainly at Fairfield House Hotel. Responsibilities include general maintenance, grounds care, and assisting with everyday property upkeep to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Shifts run 8:00am–2:00pm with some weekends, and occasional travel to RAD locations across South Ayrshire is expected. A valid driving licence is essential.

Maintenance Assistant

Part-Time

We are looking for a part time Maintenance Assistant to be based primarily at the Fairfield House Hotel. This part-time role will involve helping maintain our property and grounds to the highest standards, with shifts ranging from 8:00am to 2:00pm, including some weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Perform general maintenance tasks (electrical, plumbing, carpentry) across the hotel.
• Maintain hotel grounds, including gardening, weeding, trimming, and power washing to ensure a tidy, well-kept exterior.
• Assist with basic property upkeep and repairs to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
• Occasionally support hotel operations through tasks such as laundry, waste management, and transporting guest luggage.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, both planned and reactive, to ensure all facilities are in working order.
• Ensure hotel areas, including maintenance spaces, are kept clean, organized, and safe.
• Occasionally travel to other RAD Hotel Group locations in South Ayrshire to provide maintenance and garden support as needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a maintenance role, with the ability to carry out general repairs efficiently.
• Basic plumbing and joinery skills are highly beneficial, though not essential.
• Flexibility to work some weekends and part-time shifts between 8:00am-2:00pm.
• A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic, with a genuine passion for maintaining excellent environments.
• Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with colleagues and guests alike.
• A valid driving licence is essential.
