Reception Teaching Assistant
Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham, B30
Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 07/09/2026
Contract: Long-Term, Temp-to-PermLong Term Futures is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to support whole-class learning in a welcoming primary school in Kings Norton. This is a long-term opportunity from September, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
What the School is Looking For
- Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- Experience: At least one year's experience working in a Primary School, Nursery or Preschool
- Skills: Experience delivering phonics and supporting children with SEND, including Autism, Speech & Language needs, Makaton or PECS
- Knowledge: Good understanding of the EYFS Framework and child-centred learning
About the Role
- Support teaching and learning across the Reception classroom
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
- Support children's early reading, phonics, communication and number development
- Help pupils develop independence, social skills and positive learning behaviours
- Work closely with the class teacher, EYFS Lead and SENDCO to support children's progress
- Prepare engaging learning resources and contribute to a stimulating classroom environment
