Job summary

Desian Education in Winsford is recruiting an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting in September. You will support the Reception class teacher with engaging learning experiences, 1:1 and small-group support, and phonics sessions using Read Write Inc.

Reception Class Teaching Assistant - Winsford

Desian Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded mainstream primary school in Winsford to recruit an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in September.

Due to a full Reception intake, this welcoming and inclusive school is expanding its EYFS team and is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to help support the learning, development and wellbeing of every child in the classroom.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting the Reception class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS learning experiences.
  • Providing high-quality 1:1 and small-group support, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encouraging children's confidence, independence and social development through play-based learning.
  • Supporting pupils to achieve key developmental milestones and prepare successfully for their transition into Key Stage 1.
  • Delivering guided reading and story recall activities to develop early literacy skills.
  • Supporting guided writing activities, including letter formation and tracing exercises.
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group phonics sessions using the Read Write Inc. (RWI) programme.
  • Creating a positive, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.
