Job summary

Intec Select seeks a Lead Engineer (VP) to drive transformation of Front Office technology in London. This hybrid role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership across the full stack, influencing architecture and engineering standards within a multi-year platform modernization effort.

You will build real-time, low-latency systems for trading workflows, partner with traders, and shape the modernisation of the fixed income tech stack.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in modern Java, including concurrency and memory management.
• Experience building real-time, event-driven systems for trading workflows.
• Advanced front-end experience with React, Vite, NX, Playwright.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience designing and deploying RESTful and event-driven APIs.
• Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proven track record of driving engineering excellence through CI/CD and code quality.
• Experience in financial markets / front office trading environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve real-time, high-performance microservices for trading workflows.
• Lead end-to-end solution design across backend and frontend systems.
• Partner with traders and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
• Drive best practices across distributed systems, testing, CI/CD, and code quality.
• Influence modernisation strategy of the fixed income tech stack.
• Act as a technical leader, raising engineering standards and design decisions.
