Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority is seeking a Workforce Development Apprentice to support learning, development and emerging talent across WMCA. You’ll join the WMCA Apprentice Development Programme and work toward the Level 3 Learning & Development Practitioner Apprenticeship.

Location is Summer Lane, Birmingham with hybrid working and access to mentoring, networking and a structured career pathway within the People & Culture team.

Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic and organised; no prior L&D experience required.
  • Experience working in a team via school, volunteering or work.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate meetings, workshops and learner events.
  • Support learner communications and bookings.
  • Maintain records, trackers and programme documentation.
  • Assist apprenticeship levy monitoring and workforce development requests.
  • Support surveys, learner feedback and evaluation activities.
  • Help develop learning resources and digital content.
  • Deliver workshops and induction sessions.
  • Support WMCA Academy communications and engagement.
  • Assist with basic financial administration (POs, invoices).
  • Contribute ideas to improve learner experience and accessibility.
