Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) invites applications for a Workforce Development Apprentice within the People & Culture team in Birmingham. You'll undertake the Level 3 Learning & Development Practitioner Apprenticeship as part of the WMCA Apprentice Development Programme, with mentoring and peer learning to build confidence and skills.

You'll support learning programmes, coordinate events, manage communications and records, and assist with evaluation.

Qualifications

• No prior L&D experience required; potential and willingness to learn are valued.
• Must have GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent).
• Willingness to complete Level 3 L&D Practitioner Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate meetings, workshops, learner events and development activities.
• Support learner communications, bookings and mailbox management.
• Maintain records, trackers, stakeholder lists and programme documentation.
• Assist with apprenticeship levy monitoring and workforce development requests.
• Support surveys, learner feedback and programme evaluation activities.
• Develop learning resources and digital content.
• Deliver workshops and induction sessions.
• Support WMCA Academy communications and engagement.
• Promote learning opportunities across the organisation.
• Assist with basic financial administration (POs and invoices).
• Contribute ideas to improve learner experience, engagement and accessibility.
