Job summary

Kenton School in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Learning Support team member to enhance students' reading fluency through targeted interventions.

Ideal candidates will have experience coordinating reading interventions, strong organisational skills, and confidence delivering 1:1 and small-group support, including SEMH needs.

The role may be offered as an apprenticeship, with excellent training, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating reading interventions or similar educational programs.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Ability to deliver effective 1:1 and small-group interventions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver reading interventions to improve fluency.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students as required.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to track progress.
• Support safeguarding and welfare of students in line with policies.
