Job summary

Quay View School in Bere Alston seeks a versatile Teaching Assistant to join the education team. The role involves supporting across all key stages with children who have ASD/SEMH, promoting safety and engagement.

There is a free minibus from Plymouth. Experience with emotional regulation, resilience, and strong communication is valued; prior classroom support is preferred but not essential. A commitment to safeguarding is required.

Quay View School is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our education team. We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistants, who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages.

There is a free minibus available from Plymouth to the school (and return).

Quay View School (located in Bere Alston) specialises in providing education for children and young people aged 7-19 with autism (ASD) and social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) related conditions, including trauma and attachment. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our students is paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Work collaboratively with teachers, adapting strategies to support learning
• Work collaboratively with the education and wellbeing teams to support students to engage and regulate
• Maintain positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs
• Be an emotionally available adult for children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs
