Tadley Court School, part of Aspris, is seeking a Therapy Assistant to join the Education team in Tadley, England. The role supports students with autism and complex needs through holistic, therapeutic activities alongside the Therapy Team.

Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to work with children with autism and learning difficulties.
• Willing to undergo safeguarding screening and provide two references, covering the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist trained clinicians with preparation, planning and delivery of group and 1:1 occupational therapy and recreational activities.
• Observe, record and report to the assigned clinician as appropriate.
• Create appealing visual resources for sessions.
• Manage a caseload of students.
• Plan, run, and record 1:1 and group therapy sessions across various therapies.
• Assist with assessment and transition of new learners to familiar environments.

Tadley Court School is a specialist school and has an Ofsted rating of Good with Outstanding features. Our school is set in a beautiful semi-rural location with four acres of well-maintained grounds. We are a day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 4 and 19 years who all have a formal Autism diagnosis and either SLD or MLD. We have a healthy referral stream that proudly and successfully delivers values-led education. The role of the Therapy Assistant is to work within the Therapy Team across all disciplines to support our learners to achieve their outcomes in line with their ECHP. Duties will include:

• Assisting trained clinicians with the preparation, planning and delivery of group and one-to-one occupational therapeutic and recreational activities
• Observing recording and reporting to the assigned clinician as appropriate
• Creating appealing visual resources for sessions
• Managing a caseload of students
• planning, running, and recording 1:1 and group therapy sessions across various therapies
• Assists with the assessment and transition of new learners ensuring they are familiar with the environment
• Creation of initial supporting documentation such as Individual Placement Plans and Provision Maps
• Ensures the effective, timely and accurate updating of clinical records, case files and computerised information systems as directed while responding to routine enquiries and standard requests for information in accordance with policies and procedures
• IT Skills such as word and excel to contribute to surveys, the collection, analysis and presentation of data and information as directed
• To collate the agenda for and take notes from the weekly therapy meeting
