Job summary

Randstad CPE seeks a Head of Commercial to own governance, contract profitability and high-stakes negotiations for a rapidly expanding telecom infrastructure business. Based near Worcester/Kidderminster, you will report to the Managing Director and relieve Project Directors by driving margin discipline.

This Head of Commercial position offers an executive leadership opportunity to take primary ownership of commercial governance, contract profitability, and client-facing negotiations for a rapidly expanding telecom infrastructure business. Based near Worcester/Kidderminster, you will report directly to the Managing Director and take strategic weight off Project Directors by driving margin optimisation and commercial discipline.

Provide strategic leadership to Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and support teams across all active telecom programs

Lead client-facing commercial discussions, holding major telecommunications operators to account against contractual obligations, variations, and payment commitments

.

Drive margin improvement, own the integrity of WIP reporting, and ensure robust commercial forecasting alongside Operations and Finance

.

Identify, substantiate, and recover all contractual entitlements, compensation events, and variations to maximize business cash flow and profitability

.

About You

You are an assertive, highly commercial leader with the confidence and authority to challenge both internal operational teams and major client organizations. You bring a strong track record of protecting margins, managing contract change control, and driving financial performance in high-volume infrastructure environments

.

Demonstrate a proven track record of driving margin growth and contract profitability across high-volume programs

.

Possess strong client-facing negotiation skills with a willingness to push back firmly to protect business interests and secure entitlement

.

Show expert knowledge of contract governance, revenue recovery, cost control, and WIP reporting

.

Background in telecoms, utility infrastructure, or major civils is highly preferred, alongside strong team leadership capabilities

.
