GR Employment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a Class 2 Driver (Category C) based in the James Brindley Way area of Stoke-on-Trent.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional and reliable Class 2 Driver to join a leading logistics operation. About the Role
As a Class 2 Driver, you will be a frontline representative of the business, responsible for the safe and efficient collection and delivery of secure shipments between Service Centres, Hubs, and customer locations.
You will play a vital role in ensuring service excellence by maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle.
- Deliver and collect secure shipments in line with operational schedules.
- Plan and manage daily routes efficiently to meet service deadlines.
- Ensure the safe handling and security of shipments at all times.
- Complete vehicle checks and report defects in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and transport documentation.
- Comply with all road traffic legislation, transport regulations, and company policies.
- Follow EU Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
- Communicate professionally with customers, transport teams, and management.
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Support operational requirements during peak periods when required.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 2 driving experience is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent route-planning and organisational skills.
- Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to workload and operational requirements.

Driving Requirements
- Hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
- Hold a current Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Be legally entitled to drive and work in the UK.
- Due to the client's motor insurance requirements, applicants must meet the insurer's eligibility criteria, which currently include being aged 21 or over.
- Have no more than 9 live penalty points on their driving licence.
- Meet the client's and insurer's driver eligibility requirements.
- Successfully complete any required licence, identity, reference, and background checks.
Physical Requirements
This role may involve:
- Manual handling activities.
- Loading and unloading shipments where required.
- Regular vehicle entry and exit throughout the working day.
- Working to strict schedules and operational deadlines.
Security Screening Requirements
- Provide a 5-year employment, education and/or address history, together with supporting documentation where required.
- Provide a 5-year history check or equivalent documentation to meet regulatory and security requirements.
- Successfully complete any required criminal record, identity, employment history, reference, and security screening checks.
- Provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
