Job summary

Brook Street Social Care in Thornbury is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives. You’ll assist with personal care, medication support, and planning engaging activities on a vibrant service with an on-site farm.

Qualifications

• 6 months' experience within care or support work
• Confident providing personal care and medication support
• Epilepsy Awareness training or experience
• DBS Update Service is advantageous; we can assist with a new one

What's the Role Like?

No two days are the same.

You'll support individuals to live life to the fullest, providing personal care, administering medication, and promoting health and wellbeing in a safe, person-centred way. Beyond that, you'll help create enjoyable and rewarding experiences, whether that's:

• Arts and crafts sessions
• Baking and cooking activities
• Supporting trips out in the local community
• Spending time on the service's on-site farm
• Encouraging hobbies, independence, and new experiences

Every shift is a chance to make someone smile, build their confidence, and help them achieve their goals.

Shift Requirements

We're looking for candidates who can commit to:

• Evening shifts: 17:30 - 22:00
• Long day shifts available: 14.5 hours

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 6 months' experience within care or support work
• Confident providing personal care and medication support
• Epilepsy Awareness experience or training
• Drivers welcome due to the location, but not essential
• A DBS on the Update Service is advantageous, though we can help arrange a new one
