Retain Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Thornbury to provide high-quality care for young people with learning disabilities and autism within a residential setting.

You will work in 2:1 staffing ratios, using PBS/PBM approaches, to support daily living activities, monitor wellbeing, and de-escalate challenges while upholding safeguarding and person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK driving license and be willing to travel.
• Minimum 6 months paid experience in a residential care setting with young people.
• Proven experience supporting individuals with LD/Autism and challenging behaviours.
• PBS/PBM Training and demonstrable application of these frameworks.
• Experience observing and responding to self-injury.
• Comfortable working in 2:1 staffing ratios.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with young people.
• Ability to de-escalate conflict situations and manage challenging behaviours.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to person-centred care.
• Proactive approach to workload management and unit/home operation.

Responsibilities
