Job summary

Travail Employment Group is recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable Associate in Darlington on a 13-month maternity cover FTC, with an immediate start. The role involves processing high volumes of supplier invoices, payments, and resolving discrepancies within a busy finance team.

The successful candidate will have proven AP experience in a fast-paced environment, strong data analysis and reconciliation skills, and excellent communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Proven Accounts Payable experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Data analysis and reconciliations.
• Experience with AP reconciliations and balance sheet accounts.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• AAT Level 3 qualified or studying (desirable, not essential).
• Polish language skills would be highly beneficial but not essential.
• Good communication skills are essential.

We're recruiting for an experienced

Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Payable role

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and process payments, including BACS and wire transfers
• Resolve supplier queries and invoice discrepancies
• Reconcile supplier statements and AP balance sheet accounts
• Analyse AP data and investigate outstanding GRNI balances
• Support month-end close activities, journals, and reporting
• Identify process improvements and support AP projects
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers

What We're Looking For

• Proven Accounts Payable experience within a fast-paced environment
• Data analysis and reconciliations
• Experience with AP reconciliations and balance sheet accounts
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• AAT Level 3 qualified or studying (desirable, not essential)
• Dealing with European Accounts majority being with Poland. Polish Language skills would be highly beneficial but not essential
• Good communication skills are essential

• Hourly pay rate based on a salary of £30,000 - £34,000 ( weekly paid)

• Hybrid working after initial training period (2 days office / 3 days home)
• Full Time 37.5 hrs week core hours are 8-4/9-5 but there is flexibility offered
