Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking an Accounts Payable professional for a 13-month maternity cover in Darlington (DL1). The role offers hybrid working after an initial training period and a salary of £30,000 - £34,000 with weekly pay. Immediate start available within a global finance team.

The ideal candidate has AP experience in a fast-paced environment, strong Excel skills, and is able to handle supplier queries and reconciliations. AAT Level 3 is desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven AP experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs.
• Experience with AP reconciliations and balance sheet accounts.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• AAT Level 3 is desirable (studying acceptable).
• Polish language skills would be beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Payable role

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and process payments, including BACS and wire transfers
• Resolve supplier queries and invoice discrepancies
• Reconcile supplier statements and AP balance sheet accounts
• Analyse AP data and investigate outstanding GRNI balances
• Support month-end close activities, journals, and reporting
• Identify process improvements and support AP projects
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers

What We're Looking For

• Proven Accounts Payable experience within a fast-paced environment
• Strong Excel skills, including:
  • Pivot Tables
  • VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs
  • Data analysis and reconciliations
• Experience with AP reconciliations and balance sheet accounts
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• AAT Level 3 qualified or studying (desirable, not essential)
• Dealing with European Accounts majority being with Poland. Polish Language skills would be highly beneficial but not essential
• Good communication skills are essential
