Job summary

Potens is recruiting a Support Worker for Roman Park in Syston, a 14-bed residential service for adults with learning disabilities and autism. The role is 40 hours per week across various shifts, with options for part-time or waking nights. The position excludes sponsorship.

You will help residents learn new skills and participate in activities to promote independence. We offer a confidential Employee Assistance Programme, ongoing learning and development opportunities including NVQ levels 2–5

Qualifications

• NVQ in Health & Social Care (levels 2 to 5) or equivalent qualification.

• Enabling and supporting people to learn new skills towards living more independently.
• Taking part in the chosen activities of the people we support.
• Work patterns include early, mid, late shifts, waking nights and some weekend work.

What you’ll be doing:

• Enabling and supporting people to learn new skills towards living more independently.
• Taking part in the chosen activities of the people we support.
• Shift patterns will include 8 am-3 pm, 7 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 9 pm, 8 am to 8 pm, 3 pm- 10 pm, waking nights 8 pm-8 am. Sleep‑ins and weekend working required.
• This position is 40 hours per week, working across a variety of shift patterns. We can also provide additional flexibility offering part time hours or even waking nights only.
• Occasionally the opportunity to accompany our residents on holidays abroad or in the UK may occur.
