Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy in Stoke-on-Trent is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice. You will support daily pharmacy operations, assist customers at the counter and work with the team to ensure efficient service while undertaking a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship.

The role includes learning to handle prescriptions under supervision, stock handling, and maintaining records. Training is provided, with a typical 15‑month programme and blended learning alongside your job.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English (A-C / 4-9) desirable or provided as part of the course.
• No prior pharmacy experience required; full training will be provided.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a busy pharmacy environment.

About the role

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries

Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)

Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records

Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality

Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
