Job summary

Desian Education in St Helens is seeking a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS2, delivering targeted Maths and Literacy interventions and assisting teachers in daily lessons.

The role is full-time with immediate start; you will work with small groups and individuals to boost attainment, support pupils with additional needs where required, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistant - St Helens

An inclusive and welcoming primary school in St Helens is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full-time role supporting pupils across KS2, with particular focus on academic intervention and attainment in Maths and Literacy. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, delivering targeted support to small groups and individual pupils to help maximise progress and achievement.

While some support will be provided to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), the main focus of this role is academic support and classroom-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted Maths and Literacy interventions to small groups of Key Stage 2 pupils.
• Provide classroom support to ensure pupils remain engaged and make good progress
• Assist the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of lessons
• Support the implementation of learning activities in line with the KS2 curriculum
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Help to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Provide support for pupils with additional needs where required
