Sheffield City Council is seeking an enthusiastic Enforcement Agent to undertake enforcement activity in line with legislation, guidance and council procedures. The post holder will support the recovery of unpaid debts and engage professionally with customers and stakeholders.
The role is 37 hours per week, based in the city centre with a hybrid model. It is field-based and requires face-to-face visits with customers; training and meetings are held at Howden House.

Specifically, we are looking to appoint an Enforcement Agent who will be responsible for undertaking enforcement activity in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and Council procedures. The postholder will support the effective recovery of unpaid debts, engage professionally with customers and stakeholders, and ensure all enforcement action is completed lawfully, fairly and sensitively.
There are 2 full time 37 hour vanacies available within the Enforcement Team. We are based in the city centre (Howden House) working on a hybrid model. Office attendance is required for training, meetings and to meet service requirements. This role is field based and requires face to face visits with customers

This varied and challenging role requires a sound understanding of enforcement procedures, excellent communication and customer care skills, and the ability to act with professionalism, resilience and discretion when dealing with a wide range of customers, internal services and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out enforcement duties in line with the Taking Control of Goods Regulations, relevant statutory guidance, Council policies and procedures, and will be required to maintain accurate records, assess vulnerability and affordability, and ensure cases are managed appropriately.
