Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking an enthusiastic Enforcement Agent to undertake enforcement activity in line with legislation, guidance and council procedures. The post holder will support the recovery of unpaid debts and engage professionally with customers and stakeholders.

The role is 37 hours per week, based in the city centre with a hybrid model. It is field-based and requires face-to-face visits with customers; training and meetings are held at Howden House.

Qualifications

• Experience of enforcement activity, income collection and debt recovery processes.
• Ability to work confidently, lawfully and professionally in challenging situations.
• Excellent IT skills to use the Council’s finance, enforcement and case management systems to record activity.
• Proficient in using Microsoft 365 packages.

Responsibilities

• Undertake enforcement activity in line with legislation, guidance and Council procedures.
• Support effective recovery of unpaid debts and engage with customers and stakeholders.
• Carry out enforcement duties in the field and attend training, meetings and required visits with customers.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure cases are managed lawfully, fairly and sensitively.
