Job summary

Desian Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Kirkby seeking dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistants to join their team after half term. We currently have two exciting 1:1 support opportunities available, both offering full-time hours and long-term stability.

1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 4 Pupil (SEMH) involves supporting a pupil with SEMH needs in a specialist provision before transitioning back into mainstream education in January 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant with SEMH needs.
• Ability to work in 1:1 support roles.
• Resilience and a calm, positive approach in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with SEMH.
• Support pupil progression and engagement within their current setting.
• Assist with transition back into mainstream education (from Jan 2027).

1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 4 Pupil (SEMH)

We are also recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs who is currently based within a specialist provision.

This unique role will initially involve working with the pupil within his current setting before supporting his transition back into mainstream education in January 2027. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a strong working relationship with the pupil and gain valuable insight into the strategies that best support his progress and engagement.

The pupil can present with challenging behaviours, therefore this role requires a resilient and experienced professional who can remain calm, consistent, and positive in demanding situations.
