Job summary

Oakland is a 40-bed care home just outside Rochdale, part of Care Concern Group. We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support the team, delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care to our residents and ensuring smooth shift operations.

You will oversee medication, monitor wellbeing, maintain accurate records, and communicate with families and healthcare professionals. NVQ2 minimum with Level 3 desirable, medication training essential, and leadership skills are valued.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards

Job description

Our 40 bedded home provides residential and residential dementia care in a friendly setting just outside Rochdale. Oakland is a purpose built home with a close knit feel, offering a welcoming environment, landscaped gardens and a team focused on providing high quality, person centred care.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 33 or 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
