Job summary

Sunnyside, part of CARE CONCERN GROUP LIMITED, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team and deliver high-quality, person-centered care. You will manage shift operations, oversee medications, and communicate with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to maintain continuity of care.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 (minimum) with Level 3 desirable, strong leadership, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is the minimum.
  • Level 3 is desirable or willingness to work towards.

Job description

Our 43 bedded home provides residential and residential dementia care in Droylsden, just outside Manchester. Sunnyside is a welcoming, homely care home with comfortable communal areas, a peaceful enclosed garden and a strong sense of community. The home provides a supportive environment where colleagues can develop their skills while delivering person centred care and making a difference to residents every day.

Senior Care Assistant Contract
  • Contracted to 33 hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
  • Medication administration training with competency is essential
  • Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A caring, compassionate and professional approach
