Job description

Paperbag Cottage is a welcoming residential children's home located on the edge of Lymington, nestled within the beautiful New Forest. Our home can accommodate up to four young people and provides high-quality, individualised care to children and young people with a range of emotional, behavioural and learning needs. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, homely and nurturing environment where young people feel safe, valued and supported to thrive. Our dedicated staff team provides care that is truly child-centred, recognising that every young person is different and has their own individual needs, interests, strengths and aspirations. Our approach focuses on supporting each young person's physical, social, intellectual and emotional wellbeing, while encouraging them to develop their confidence, independence and life skills. Staff are encouraged to build positive, trusting relationships and create meaningful opportunities for young people to learn, achieve and enjoy positive experiences. Working at Paperbag Cottage is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people, helping them to feel secure, develop their potential and prepare for their future.

Due to the location of this home, all candidates are required to hold a full UK driving licence.

At Aspris, we want every young person to feel understood, supported, and ready to take on the world. That's why our homes are shaped around the needs of each child - this ensures that all of our young people get the support that's shaped around their strengths, challenges, and goals.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be at the centre of the fun! Taking young people to see their friends, trips to the cinema, partaking in community events such as fundraisers and galas, teaching the young people to cook, encouraging them to be independent and many other brand new opportunities that they may never have had the chance to do previously. This role allows you to really make a difference to the lives of those under our care and to build strong relationships with the young people and staff alike.

At Aspris, learning never stops - and that's something we truly value. As a growing organisation, we rely on accurate, detailed data, which can include sensitive information such as incident reports and disclosures from young people. High attention to detail is essential to the role.

To support you, we offer continuous CPD and development opportunities, helping you grow and become the best version of yourself.

What does this mean?
  • Automatic enrollment onto NVQ/SVQ qualifications within 6-months of starting a Residential Support role
  • The opportunity to be qualified to degree level
  • A clear pathway for you to progress in your role
