West Lancashire Borough Council is seeking an Executive Support Officer to provide confidential administrative support to Directors, Assistant Directors and Chief Officers. You will be the first point of contact for enquiries, coordinate meetings and events, and manage correspondence and records with a focus on customer service.
The role requires a 36-hour week, some flexibility outside core hours, and occasional travel to other Council sites.
As an Executive Support Officer, you will provide confidential administrative support to Directors, Assistant Directors and Chief Officers, helping them manage priorities and work effectively.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly, supportive employer and offer a range of benefits designed to suit your needs. These include a competitive salary, generous annual leave entitlement, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, work–life balance policies, and opportunities for personal development.
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join West Lancashire Borough Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
Throughout this period, our focus remains on delivering excellent services to our communities. By joining us now, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of local government and helping to build a strong new organisation that will serve residents for years to come.
Interview: To be confirmed.
