Lancashire County Council in Preston is seeking a Facilities Support Officer to provide administrative support to the Hard FM team based at County Hall. Job Advert - Facilities Support Officer

The Facilities Management Service is passionate about the delivery of Council services to the citizens of Lancashire and make an effective contribution to the realisation of the Council's vision to make Lancashire the best place to live, work, visit and prosper.

Within this context, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Facilities Support Officer to provide administrative support to the Hard FM team, based at County Hall Headquarters in Preston.

What We Are Looking For

Knowledge and Experience – You will have experience of working within an administrative environment and have working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, with a good understanding of Facilities Management and how it supports the operational effectiveness of a building and the business performance of its occupiers.

Passion – You will be passionate about delivering efficient administrative support and a great customer service experience, it's what will motivate you. Striving to get it right first time, asking for support when you need it and building on the skills that you have developed in your career to date.

Great Communication – You'll be engaging and able to communicate in a clear and concise manner when providing information to colleagues and members of the Public. Ability to listen and act upon instructions and requirements appropriately is key.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
