Step Teachers Ltd in Norwich is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs across varied school settings.

You will work with teachers to deliver accessible activities, implement behaviour strategies, and help pupils develop confidence, emotional resilience, and positive learning behaviours while adhering to safeguarding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs
• Understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
• Patience, resilience, and a calm, supportive approach
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with pupils
• Adaptable across different classrooms and key stages
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
• Willingness to undertake additional training, including SEMH or behaviour-related programmes
