Overview

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately. These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Norwich and the surrounding areas, helping them develop confidence, emotional resilience, and positive learning behaviours.

Duties
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering adapted and accessible learning activities
  • Help implement behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies
  • Promote positive relationships and model constructive communication
  • Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours in line with school policies
  • Encourage engagement, participation, and independence
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with teaching staff
  • Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
