Job summary

Gov Facility Services Limited is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor for HMP Whitemoor, March, Cambridgeshire. You will lead a multi-trade maintenance team, ensuring safe, compliant operation of heating and building services within a high-security estate.

Candidates should have 5+ years FM/secure sector experience, and hold listed plumbing/heating NVQs or City & Guilds. The role offers full-time hours, salary £48,412.56 with shift pattern included, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience, ideally within FM environment or secure environment.
• Experience on commercial/industrial heating, water or building service systems.
• Familiar with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
• Strong risk, compliance and project planning abilities.

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at HMP Whitemoor, a High Security & Adult/Male prison.

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and lead experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Supervisor with one of the following NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications and combination of skills:

• A minimum of five years' experience, ideally within an FM environment and/ or secure environment, military, health or similar sectors.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water or building service systems.
• Familiar with, and ability to, work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
• A rounded knowledge of risk and compliance and demonstrable planning & project management skills.

Future Plans.

GFSL has been notified by it's shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM Services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL's services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
