Job summary

Gov Facility Services Ltd invites applications for a Mechanical Supervisor (Plumbing) at HMP Whitemoor, March Cambridgeshire. The role is full time, permanent, 39 hours per week, leading a skilled team of plumbers, electricians, and engineers in a high security environment.

You will oversee preventative maintenance, ensure compliance with Water Regs and Legionella L8, and coordinate with safety and operations.

Qualifications

• A proven track record of leading plumbing teams in facilities/FM or secure environments.
• Five years plus experience in facilities maintenance or related sector.
• Knowledge of Water Supply Regulations and Legionella L8 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Mechanical Supervisor team across plumbing and allied trades.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of heating and water systems.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and respond to critical faults in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with safety, operations and prison administration to meet regulatory standards.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Supervisor with one of the following NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications and combination of skills:

• ETA Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance

In addition, a minimum of five years' experience, ideally within an FM environment and/or secure environment, military, health or similar sectors is required.

Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water or building service systems, and familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements is essential.

You should possess good Health & Safety knowledge, excellent organisational, time management, and people skills. A rounded knowledge of risk and compliance, along with demonstrable planning & project management skills, is also required.
