Working closely with engineering, operations and commercial teams, you'll play a key role in shaping the future manufacturing footprint of the organisation through facility, equipment and infrastructure investment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering projects that improve manufacturing capacity, efficiency and operational performance. From assessing future production requirements to introducing new equipment, production systems and facilities, you’ll help ensure the business is ready to support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop business cases and investment proposals to secure funding for manufacturing expansion projects.
  • Lead capital projects from concept through to installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Specify, source and implement new manufacturing equipment, systems and infrastructure.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risks and stakeholder expectations.

Manufacturing Strategy & Capacity Planning

  • Assess manufacturing capacity requirements and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Support the development of long-term manufacturing and operational strategies.
  • Create forecasting models to support future investment and resource planning.
  • Drive improvements in production efficiency, material flow and operational performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Support change management initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant health, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, process reviews and operational governance.
  • Drive best practice across project delivery and manufacturing engineering activities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline/equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering capital projects within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, plant layouts and production systems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, FMCG or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen or Value Stream Mapping.
  • Experience with automation, PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulic systems or process engineering.
  • Understanding of machinery safety regulations and industrial compliance requirements.
  • Exposure to COMAH, hazardous manufacturing environments or process safety frameworks.

About You

You’ll be an ambitious engineering professional who enjoys solving complex operational challenges and delivering projects that make a tangible impact. Comfortable working across multiple disciplines, you’ll combine technical expertise with strong commercial awareness, communication skills and project leadership capability.

Why Apply?

  • Join a business investing heavily in its future manufacturing capability.
  • Lead high-value projects with genuine strategic impact.
  • Influence capacity growth, facility development and operational expansion plans.
  • Work across engineering, operations and senior leadership teams.
  • Opportunity to shape a newly created role and make it your own.

If you're looking for an opportunity to combine industrialisation, facilities engineering and capital project delivery in a role that directly influences business growth, we'd love to hear from you.
