Job summary

Anglian Home Improvements is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to help optimise our manufacturing performance across sites in the UK. You will drive continuous improvement, manage capital projects from concept to completion, and work with production teams and suppliers to deliver value.

You will develop engineering solutions to increase capacity, reduce waste and improve safety, quality and delivery KPIs, while maintaining robust SOPs and TPM documentation.

Qualifications

  • HNC, HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline required.
  • Proven experience in Manufacturing/Production/Process/Project Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing teams to achieve key KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity).
  • Identify and implement efficiency, yield and process improvements.
  • Lead capital investment projects from concept to completion and manage budgets/timelines.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving manufacturing performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and delivering capital investment projects that support business growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing teams, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers to develop engineering solutions that improve efficiency, increase capacity, reduce waste, and enhance operational performance across our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Support manufacturing teams in achieving key operational KPIs relating to safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity.
  • Identify, develop and implement efficiency, yield and process improvement initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in capacity utilisation and operational performance.
  • Support waste reduction and sustainability programmes.
  • Identify and deliver energy‑saving projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) documentation.
  • Create and manage technical specifications for new equipment and engineering projects.
  • Lead and deliver capital investment projects from concept through to completion.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, risks and stakeholder communications.
  • Present project updates and progress reports to the Senior Management Team.
  • Coordinate and manage external contractors involved in engineering and capital projects.
  • Ensure effective handover and project close‑out activities upon completion.
  • Support factory and site layout development projects.
  • Design, develop and implement jigs, fixtures and assembly aids.
  • Deliver engineering solutions to address Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and technical service requests.
  • Support production teams in achieving on‑time, in‑full manufacturing targets.
  • Manage and support the introduction of process, equipment and product changes.
  • Maintain and update the company asset register.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
  • HNC, HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience within a Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Process Engineering or Project Engineering environment.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Degree‑level qualification in Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience managing engineering or capital investment projects.
  • Competent AutoCAD user.
  • Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Experience of plant and factory layout development.
  • Contractor management experience.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Results‑focused approach with the ability to influence and drive change.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Data analysis and performance improvement tools.
  • New Product Development (NPD) experience.
  • CDM knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of the window, door and glass processing industry.
