Job description

Senior Dog Walker and Operations Assistant

London Pet Club is looking for a reliable, organised and animal-loving individual to join our growing team as a Senior Dog Walker & Operations Assistant.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has professional dog handling experience (either as a dog walker or trainer), and enjoys working with animals, while also developing their administrative and operational skills within a successful pet care business.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is confident managing dogs independently, understands dog behaviour, and is interested in learning more about the running of a pet care company. You will work closely with the business owner to support daily operations, client relationships and the continued growth of the business.

DOG WALKING AND PET CARE
  • Provide professional dog walking services for clients
  • Safely manage walks with multiple dogs where required
  • Understand and manage different dog personalities, behaviours and needs
  • Provide excellent care and communication updates to clients
  • Assist with occasional pet sitting, home visits and other pet care services
  • Support with meet and greets and new client introductions where required
  • Conduct staff recruitment and training
OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION
  • Assist with the day-to-day organisation of the business
  • Help manage client enquiries via phone, email and messaging platforms
  • Support scheduling, calendars and daily walk coordination
  • Maintain accurate client and pet records
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and staff
  • Support the owner with general business administration
  • Help identify ways to improve systems, processes and customer experience
CLIENT EXPERIENCE
  • Build professional relationships with clients and their pets
  • Represent London Pet Club professionally at all times
  • Provide a high standard of customer service and communication
WORKING HOURS
  • Up to 20 hours per week, across Monday-Sunday
  • Flexibility required depending on client needs and business requirements

We are looking for someone seeking a long-term opportunity who is able to commit to a minimum of 12 months.

PAY
  • Paid monthly via invoice as a self-employed contractor
  • £15 per hour
Pet sitting and dog walks:
  • 1-3 hours: £15 per hour
  • 4+ hours: £45 per day/overnight sitting
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Have a strong understanding of dog behaviour and body language
  • Be confident handling dogs of different breeds and sizes
  • Be reliable, organised and able to work independently
  • Be comfortable communicating with clients and staff professionally
  • Have good attention to detail and administrative skills
  • Be confident using smartphones, apps and basic computer systems
  • Have an iPhone with sufficient data to use company applications
  • Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Be a non-smoker
  • Be aged over 21
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience working as a professional dog walker or dog trainer with another company
  • Experience using scheduling software or customer management systems
  • Interest in social media, marketing or small business operations
  • Experience supporting or training other team members
LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

These must be completed during the trial period. Candidates are responsible for associated costs.

  • Public liability insurance
TRIAL PERIOD

Successful candidates will complete a 1-month trial period. During the trial, you will be assessed on your ability to:

  • Safely handle and walk dogs
  • Communicate professionally with clients
  • Use company applications and tracking systems
  • Provide high-quality pet care
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Please note that experience gained solely from caring for your own pets, or pets belonging to family or friends, will not be considered professional experience.
