Job summary

RDCP Care seeks a caring and creative Activities Coordinator for Ferndene Care Home in Gainsborough. You will plan and run a varied programme of activities to promote wellbeing for residents, with DBS clearance and on-site training provided.

You’ll work on a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays, with induction support and access to on-site parking. A contributory pension is also offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in care setting or event planning that promotes meaningful activities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills for planning documents and supporting materials.
• DBS checks and references will be required.

Job description

We are looking for a caring, creative, and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team at Ferndene Care Home.

Located in Gainsborough, DN21, Ferndene is a purpose-built residential and nursing home that provides high-quality care and support for older adults, including people living with dementia. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in creating enjoyable experiences and promoting wellbeing through a varied programme of activities and events.

• Rate of Pay: £12.80 per hour
• Schedule: Rota basis which includes weekends and bank holidays.
• Shift times: Flexibility to working hours is required to support with activities and events.

Responsibilities

• Create, plan and implement monthly activity programmes that consider the individual needs and choice of all people who live within the care home
• Create an atmosphere of social inclusion and purposeful days
• Work to a budget and create methods of fundraising
• Maintain up to date records of daily activities using appropriate documentation

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a care setting and/or developing and organising a range of events and activities, that promote purposeful days. You will have strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative and plan and produce a variety of documents and supporting material to enhance the home’s activities programme.
