Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to support day-to-day operations and assist customers at the counter. You will work closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service while undertaking a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship.

The role includes stock handling, processing prescriptions under supervision, and using pharmacy systems. Training is provided, with a typical duration of around 15 months and full-time hours Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English desired but not essential, training provided as part of the course.
• Ability to complete Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside role.
• No previous pharmacy experience required; full training provided.
• Strong communication and customer service skills valued.

About the role

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

• Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
• Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
• Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
• Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
• Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
