Job summary

Tailored Eyecare Opticians is seeking an Optical Assistant to support optometrists and dispensing opticians in our family-oriented practices. You will assist customers with eyewear selection and fitting, provide eye health information, and help manage appointments and records. Training is provided, with potential to pursue a nationally recognised dispensing qualification.

This role emphasizes excellent patient care, on-the-job development, and a supportive team environment across our practices.

An optical assistant plays a crucial role in supporting optometrists and dispensing opticians in various healthcare settings.

Key responsibilities include:

Customer Service: Assisting customers with eyewear selection, fitting, and providing information on eye health and vision care.

Administrative Duties: Managing appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling administrative tasks such as stock management and order processing. Making phone calls and booking appointments.

Healthcare Support: Preparing patients for eye examinations, conducting preliminary tests, and ensuring a smooth patient experience for which training will be provided.

Skill Development: Gaining knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and possibly completing a nationally recognised qualification in dispensing.

This role is essential for ensuring high-quality eye care and customer satisfaction in our family orientated optometry practices.
