Job summary

Quo Vadis Trust is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Worker to assist adults across services in Croydon and South-East London. You will build relationships, understand each person’s history and help set achievable goals, promoting independence.

You’ll work full-time, 35 hours per week, with occasional night shifts per rota. DBS enhanced check funded by the company and relevant training are provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mental health or supportive environment.
  • Understanding of mental health, learning disabilities, homelessness and substance misuse.
  • Strong written, verbal and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and review individual support plans and SMART goals.
  • Welcome new clients and assess risks.
  • Help clients understand welfare benefits, housing and services.
  • Respond to incidents and behaviours that challenge with de-escalation.
  • Maintain client records and prepare reports.
  • Carry out room, property and health and safety checks.
  • Support clients with daily living and moving between accommodation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
  • Travel between services as required.

Full-time, 35 hours per week – Day shifts, occasional night shifts as per rota

Do you have experience supporting people with mental health needs and behaviours that challenge? Are you patient, resilient and able to remain calm during difficult situations?

The role

Quo Vadis Trust is looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Worker to support adults across our services in Croydon and South-East London.

You will build positive relationships, understand each person’s history and needs, and help them set realistic goals. Your support will enable clients to develop everyday skills, manage their tenancies and move towards greater independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and review individual support plans and SMART goals.
  • Welcome new clients, assess risks and support their induction.
  • Help clients understand welfare benefits, housing and available services.
  • Respond professionally to incidents and behaviours that challenge, using effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports when required.
  • Carry out room, property and health and safety checks.
  • Support clients with daily living, housekeeping and moving into or out of accommodation.
  • Work with healthcare professionals, external agencies and colleagues.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
  • Travel between Quo Vadis Trust services when required.

  • GCSE-level English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Basic IT skills and experience using client-management systems.
  • Availability to work unsociable hours when required.
