Job summary

Sidney Stringer Academy Trust invites applications for an Assistant Education Welfare Officer to strengthen the Attendance Team and support the academy’s attendance strategy. The role involves home visits, follow-up on absences, mentoring, and meticulous record-keeping for Years 7–11.

You will work under the Attendance Lead and Education Welfare Officer, helping students, families and staff address barriers to attendance and escalate concerns as needed.

Qualifications

You will be employed by the trust which consists of five schools led by Sidney Stringer Academy. The schools are Radford Primary Academy, Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Sidney Stringer Primary School and Sidney Stringer Academy.We are looking to appoint an Assistant Education Welfare Officer to join our team.

Job overview

To work as part of the Attendance Team to support the academy’s attendance strategy. The postholder will undertake a range of duties, including home visits, absence follow up, mentoring, administrative tasks and record keeping, to support improved attendance for students in Years 7 to 11.The Assistant Education Welfare Officer will work under the direction of the Attendance Lead and Education Welfare Officer, supporting students, families and staff to address barriers to attendance and ensure that attendance concerns are identified, recorded and escalated appropriately.
