Job summary

Professional Personnel Management Ltd is recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a mobile maintenance team. You’ll work across a local region keeping outdoor spaces tidy, safe and well maintained throughout the year.

Responsibilities include grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, weeding and planting, plus seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, gritting and snow clearance when required. You will operate mowers, strimmers and blowers and update progress via a mobile app.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or gardening preferred.
• Basic plant knowledge and horticultural skills.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Reliable, punctual, team player; driving licence preferred.
• PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates desirable.

Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a mobile maintenance team. You'll be working across a variety of sites within a local region, helping to keep outdoor spaces tidy, safe, and well maintained throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, weeding, and planting.
• Complete seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, gritting, and snow clearance when required.
• Safely operate a range of grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, strimmers, and blowers.
• Follow site-specific schedules and instructions to maintain high standards of work.
• Communicate professionally with customers and members of the public.
• Use a mobile app to update job statuses and upload photos of completed work.

Requirements

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or gardening is preferred.
• Basic plant knowledge and practical horticultural skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates are desirable.

Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00am - 4:00pm (hours may vary seasonally)

Contract

• Initial contract until the end of October, with the opportunity for a permanent position subject to business requirements.
