Job summary

Thringstone Primary School in the United Kingdom is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our caring staff. The role is 30 hours per week, term-time, 8:50am-3:20pm, Monday to Friday, with an initial fixed-term contract until the end of Summer Term 2027 and potential to become permanent.

The LSA will support teaching and learning across the school, including 1:1 and small-group work and SEND support.

Qualifications

About the Role

Thringstone Primary School is seeking a caring, committed and adaptable Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive staff team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting teaching and learning across the school. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to support children within the classroom, including providing 1:1 and small-group support where required. A significant part of the role will involve supporting children with additional and SEND needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and participate successfully in school life. Deployment will be based on the needs of the school and may change over time, so we are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable and keen to develop their skills. The appointment will initially be on a fixed-term contract until the end of the Summer Term 2027, with the potential for the position to become permanent.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent qualifications.

  • Builds positive relationships with children.
  • Is flexible and responsive to individual needs.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, children and families.
