Job summary

Thringstone Primary School in the United Kingdom is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our caring staff. The role is 30 hours per week, term-time, 8:50am-3:20pm, Monday to Friday, with an initial fixed-term contract until the end of Summer Term 2027 and potential to become permanent.

The LSA will support teaching and learning across the school, including 1:1 and small-group work and SEND support.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary-aged children is desirable
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above or equivalent
• Confident supporting children with additional needs
• Calm, patient and consistent
• Builds positive relationships with children
• Flexible and responsive to individual needs
• Communicates effectively with staff, children and families
• Works well in a team and takes initiative
• Reliable, organised and committed to supporting learning
• Keen to learn and take advantage of training opportunities

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group support as required
• Support children with additional and SEND needs
• Assist the class teacher in delivering effective teaching and learning
• Help children access the curriculum and develop independence
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and participation
• Prepare and adapt resources to meet children's needs
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Engage positively with training and professional development
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times
