Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Mobile Vehicle Technician to join a leading commercial fleet operation serving the Chelmsford area. You will diagnose, service and repair a range of light commercial vehicles, working on-site and in the workshop.

You will handle MOT preparations, maintain high workmanship standards, and support the fleet with mobile service visits. A strong diagnostic skillset and a valid licence are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Experience on light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and/or heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK, Irish or EU manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, maintain and repair a wide range of light commercial vehicles.
• Work on brands such as Mercedes, Ford and Iveco.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure safety compliance.
• Attend customer sites on a mobile service basis and support workshop activities.

Mobile Vehicle Technician Role

• Carry out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of light commercial vehicles
• Work on leading brands including Mercedes, Ford and Iveco
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Attend customer sites as part of a mobile service operation while supporting workshop activities when required
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
• Work collaboratively with the wider technical team to keep fleet downtime to a minimum

Mobile Vehicle Technician Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working on LCVs and/or HGVs
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
• Full UK, Irish or EU Manual Driving Licence
